Footsteps for Mum: A Journey of Remembrance

This summer, Elisha Union, a funeral arranger at George Brooke Funeral Directors, will be taking on a meaningful challenge alongside her family — a sponsored walk from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere in memory of her mum, who passed away last year.

Titled “Footsteps for Mum,” the walk is a personal journey of remembrance. For Elisha and her family, it’s a chance to spend time together, reflect, and mark the one-year anniversary in a way that feels positive and purposeful.

“It’s been a year since we lost Mum, and this walk gives us a chance to reflect, to remember, and to give back,” Elisha says. “We’ll be thinking of her every mile of the way.”

The walk also serves as a fundraising effort in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity that provided care and guidance to Elisha’s family during her mum’s illness. Through this effort, Elisha hopes to help ensure that other families facing cancer continue to receive the support they need.
